Our Resolutions

Personal Goals

1. Remove from my life those things that interfere with my calling to teach and train young people in God’s Word.

2. Memorize the pastoral epistles. Hope to begin with Titus and work into 1 and 2 Timothy later in the year. A great resource when considering full book memorization is Dr. Andrew Davis’ paper An Approach to the Extended Memorization of Scripture.

3. I really need to finish Jonathan Edwards’ The Freedom of the Will. It is a hard book to read and I’ve stumbled through part of it.

4. The young man who has been a great help to me this last year is returning home to Australia. Waiting to see who God sends to replace him.

5. Finish the manuscript that has been sitting on my desk in multiple parts and get it published.

Family Goals

1. We are looking at having the kids learn the Westminster Shorter Catechism this year. The questions and answers are substantial enough to grow our 14 year old, yet easy enough for our 8 year old to understand.

2. Work through Donald Whitney’s Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life.

3. Dedicate time away from the busy-ness of life. We have been a bit lax in setting family-specific time aside.
