Notes: Titus 3:2

to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.  (Titus 3:2)

James tells us that the tongue is a powerful member and impossible to control.  When a believer speaks, he is to speak as one uttering the very words of God (1 Peter 4:11).  There is no room in the Christian’s conversation for idle gossip, or name calling at any level.

Christians are not to be going around as common brawlers, looking for violent confrontations.  We are to live at peace with all men, as much as we are able (Romans 12:18).

Be polite.  Don’t get upset at every little offense.  Act humbly. Knowing that there is no rich or poor, Jew or Greek, freeman or slave in the Church, we are to treat all men equally (Gal 3:28).
