Notes: 1 Timothy 3:7

And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.  (1 Timothy 3:7)

Again Paul refers to the pastor’s reputation and character.  But that character isn’t always viewed from within the church walls, through a prism of grace.  The world is looking at our pastors as well.  There is no luxury of grace with the world.  The world holds the church and its leaders to an even greater standard than its own.
